I am returning to training after a three-year hiatus in which I dove headfirst into healing from severe childhood trauma. I am currently carrying extra weight due to a medication I was on and to emotional stress. You might be wondering, Shouldn't a trainer be thin and super fit? I initially agonized over the same question, but not for long. Not only am I much more than a number on a scale, I am a very skilled and effective trainer ... regardless of my weight. I'm not going to let being overweight stop me from doing what I love and do well. Besides, struggling with weight and body image is much more common than not and I believe my authenticity and vulnerability make me a compassionate and empathetic trainer to my clients--especially to those who are currently overweight. I'm all about accepting, appreciating, and loving my body today and encouraging my clients to do the same with their bodies. The important thing is that we respect ourselves and each other and that we move and improve, one day at a time. And have fun doing it!
See My Credentials and Client Testimonials for more on what makes me unique.
My goal is twofold: To help you accept and love your body as it is today and to get you to fall in love with moving your body and getting fit. If you accept and love yourself as you are (just as you would your child or a dear friend), you will have an easier time treating your body with kindness and respect; you will naturally take better care of yourself. I also understand that it can be difficult to find motivation to stick to an exercise program. Not only have I "been there, done that" myself, I've extensively studied the topic of motivation. I can help you to embrace who you are now, to get excited about moving, and to find and tap your own motivation so that you can reach your health and fitness goals.
Don't put off taking care of yourself any longer! Contact me to help get you moving and feeling great; you deserve it!
